Surrendering a Pet
Oftentimes, pets are surrendered to a rescue or shelter because of soluble problems. Issues such as chewing, barking, or litter box problems can be addressed with training and/or a thorough vet check-up. We're happy to counsel pet owners about approaches that can help them to keep their pets.
If surrendering a pet becomes unavoidable, we will ask you to present a vet's certification documenting that the pet is spayed or neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. We also for a written vet's statement that the pet is adoptable, meaning that it must be healthy and not dangerous.
MCP Rescue will also assess the pet.
